Wainwright Liquor & Cold Beer opened their doors on January 31 1994 in a 3500 sq foot building with around 600 items in inventory.  Now some 14 years later (and one expansion to 4500 sq feet), the inventory has expanded to over 2300 items in stock and 12000 more potential liquor products available to order from the main warehouse located at St Albert Alberta.

Over the past 14 years the selection of products continues to evolve and change. There are many new products that are pre-made and ready to drink on the market today, that were not even thought of 5 years ago.  With many of the larger liquor companies and breweries going worldwide this has increased the number of products available from around the world.

We at Wainwright Liquor & Cold Beer are very proud of the vast selection of products from around the world that we carry on a regular basis.  The domestic breweries and the imported beers are growing in their selection and availability, but so has the market for that small batch brew with that unique local flair.

So over time our selection of beers has grown to over 300 brands covering most countries in the world and 6 Canadian microbreweries.

Wine also is a product that changes on a constant basis with the passing of each year. New vintages are introduced and the old ones replaced.  This makes it hard on the customer who found that wine one year that they loved and the next year’s vintage may taste very different due to the many different conditions that affect the production of wines.  The staff at Wainwiright Liquor & Cold beer are always at hand to help you select from their 800 plus varieties of fine wine and ports.  And you may find your next favourite wine to share with family and friends on that next special occasion.

Our scotch selection is one of the best in the area if not in the province of Alberta.  Single malt scotch is one of the areas that we take great pride in. With more than 100 different varieties to ponder over, the region of Scotland or your favourite distillery will sure to be there. Or if you are a collector of rare single malts we have them also, ranging in price from a few hundred dollars to five thousand and up.

Beer, wine and scotch are not the only things we carry.  To add to this exceptional selection already there are many whiskies to choose form including Canadian whisky, American bourbons, Irish whisky and some small batch specialty whiskies that are very interesting in their own way. Rum with its many styles and blends is one you are sure to spend some time looking at.  Vodka is another product that has enjoyed double digit growth over the past years especially in the flavoured and ultra premium brands.

The bad boy of booze is Tequila and we have some of the best of the best in the blue agava line with around 30 to 35 brands in stock.  Cognac, Brandy, Port and Sherry are all well represented with a good selection in each area.  Cognac is another of those products we carry that will please the collector in you or a person with exquisite taste.
